A new type of tourism that has started in the park involves climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on mountain bikes via the Kilema gate.
The initiative is based on the efforts of the National Parks Agency (TANAPA) to expand the spectrum of attractions in its Parks.
Juanito Oiarzabal, who already holds a number of world records (see the Guiness Book of World Records) cycled up Kilimanjaro with his two colleagues, Eduardo Pascuaz and Ramon Abecia.
The National Park Agency (TANAPA) through the National Park of Kilimanjaro has set up a measurement mechanism for mountain bikers before starting a journey to the summit.
