Overview of Lemosho Route
The Lemosho Route is considered one of the most scenic routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the western side of the mountain, the trail offers spectacular views, quiet forest paths and a gradual approach toward the summit.
Unlike some shorter routes, Lemosho provides more time for altitude adaptation. Climbers pass through diverse landscapes including rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert and the final Arctic summit zone.
The route joins the Machame trail near the Shira Plateau before continuing through some of Kilimanjaro’s most famous landmarks including Lava Tower, Barranco Wall and the Southern Circuit.
