Hydration on the Mountain

Staying properly hydrated at high altitude is essential for your health, energy levels, and overall summit success. Dehydration can increase the risk of altitude sickness, so drinking enough water each day is a key part of your climb.

How Much Water Should You Drink?

Climbers are advised to drink 3 to 5 liters of water per day while on the mountain. This helps your body adjust to the altitude and keeps you energized throughout the trek.

Water Provided

  • Purified Drinking Water – Safe, clean water is provided daily at every camp
  • You will have regular opportunities to refill your bottles or hydration system

Recommended Water Containers

To stay well hydrated, we recommend:

  • Reusable Water Bottles (1–2 liters each)
  • Hydration Bladder / CamelBak (2–3 liters) – Ideal for easy drinking while walking

Many climbers prefer using both:

  • A CamelBak for drinking during the hike
  • A bottle for backup and for use at camp

Electrolyte Drinks

We also provide electrolyte drinks (such as rehydration salts or sports drinks) to:

  • Replace lost minerals
  • Improve hydration
  • Boost energy levels

Pro Tip

Drink small amounts of water frequently rather than waiting until you feel thirsty — this keeps your body consistently hydrated and helps with altitude adjustment.
