A 3-day trek on Mount Meru is an excellent choice for those who want a shorter climb or wish to acclimatize before taking on Kilimanjaro. The trek is challenging but accessible for most trekkers with a reasonable fitness level.

  • Start the trek: Begin your hike through the forest, heading towards Miriakamba Hut (2,514m), which is the first camp on the route. This is a relatively easy trek through tropical rainforest, where you can spot wildlife such as colobus monkeys, giraffes, and antelopes.
  • Arrive at Miriakamba Hut: After 4-5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Miriakamba Hut, where you can relax and enjoy dinner. The hut offers basic facilities, and you’ll spend the night here.
